Question to v4l community::HELP !!! :)

Hi everyone,

I've been looking for answer on a specific problem with the program Camserv for several months.
I'm using Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 kernel 2.6.24-18-generic #1 SMP Wed May 28 20:27:26 UTC 2008 i686
(note that I tried with Debian Etch)
And what a bizarre thing that Camserv works great with my quickcam express usb but not with
my hauppauge bt848 (3com bigpicture). further more, I can run 2 instances of xawtv, one for my
usb webcam and one for my bttv without a problem... through a xdmcp session, amazingly fast.
I've done the same with vlc, number 1.

But I keep receiving error from v4l when I try to start camserv for my bttv.

but the goal is to get the bttv up and running and NO SHOW

I only need a frame per second in a web page from my pci capture card...
camserv was doing until recently.
