Did you find the solution?
I also get very similar errors. I have a clean Ubuntu installation, the
same kernel as yours. I use the current gspca development repository
(last change: Sun, 05 Oct 2008 09:55:24 +0200). And I get the following
when I plug in my usb camera:

BTW: Is my camera supported? It is 0c45:612a Microdia. It is listed in
linux/Documentation/video4linux/gspca.txt as "known". Does "known" mean
"supported"?
