Gareth,
you can have two modules that claim the same devices :) You need to choice 
between spca5xx with V4L1 and compression support or the sn9c102 driver from 
the main kernel tree with V4L2 support uncompressed.
 You should read README-SONIX in the source tree of spca5xx to get usefull 
information.
