Ralph,
Why did you change spca5xx.c ? 0x04fc:0x0561 is know by the driver and should 
work with your Ezonics webcam :) Don't care about "commercial" name, Vendors 
can sell a lot of chips+sensors with the same commercial name ( look at what 
Logitech can do with a simple QuickCam Express ).
Please use the original driver get in http://mxhaard.free.fr
compile and install
load the module with:
modprobe spca5xx debug=5
plug your webcam
then run spcaview
spcaview -f yuv -s 352x288
stop or kill spcaview and mail me ALL the relevant line of your 
/var/log/messages
remove the driver
rmmod spca5xx
