Selective memory. I looked at my groups and noted they all 'ended' (or 
started at) a point some 30 days in the past.

Totally forgetting that I had set my local retention to 30 days! I 
wasn't looking at results of the server's policy, but my own. My error, 
sorry, won't happen again.
