***BOGO*** [Mingw-users] make is super slow

Hi,

I am running make in msys and the source dir is on a samba share but the
build dir is local. The actual compile commands are fast. make basically
slows to a crawl when it hits lines like,

 Making all in foo

I wait about 30 seconds after that.

Everything works fine if the source dir is local and the build dir is
local.  Any clues?
