***BOGO*** [kde] kde exits when idle for 20 minutes

Since I got back from the holidays kde has been exiting after being idle 
for 20 minutes or so. This has me baffled.

Is this behavior configurable? (Perhaps a config file or startkde were 
modified somehow.)

Is there a KDE logfile somewhere on the system which might give me a 
clue of what's happening?
